The People Behind Your Video Journey

We're a small group of creators who got tired of seeing great ideas buried under clunky edits. So we started teaching others how to shape their footage into something people actually want to watch.

Meet the Crew

Each of us brings something different to the table. We've all been in the trenches – staring at timelines at 2am, fighting with codec issues, and learning what actually works through plenty of trial and error.

Elowen Thorne

Narrative & Pacing Specialist

Elowen spent years cutting documentary footage for independent filmmakers before realizing she wanted to teach instead of just execute. She's the one who'll help you figure out why your four-minute piece feels like it drags for ten.

Kasper Lundqvist

Technical Workflow & Color

Kasper came from broadcast engineering and decided he'd rather work with aspiring editors than deal with live TV deadlines. He makes sense of proxies, color spaces, and all the technical stuff that makes people's eyes glaze over.

Vesper Calloway

Motion Graphics & Visual Effects

Vesper worked on music videos and commercials until she got bored with the same client demands. Now she teaches people how to add motion elements without making their videos look like a 2010 PowerPoint presentation.

How We Actually Teach

We're not fans of the "watch me click buttons" approach. You'll work on real projects from day one – messy footage, unclear briefs, the whole deal.

Our sessions focus on decision-making. Why cut here instead of there? When does a transition help versus distract? How do you know when you're done versus just tired of looking at it?

  • Live feedback sessions where we review your work together
  • Access to project files from actual client work (with permission, obviously)
  • Weekly Q&A where no question is too basic or too weird
  • Small group sizes because we actually want to know your name

What Makes Us Different

Most editing courses teach software. We teach judgment. The tools change every year anyway. What doesn't change is knowing when a cut works and when it doesn't.

We've all made terrible edits. Cut important moments too early. Used effects that seemed cool at the time but looked awful three days later. Exported in the wrong format and had to redo everything.

Real Projects, Real Constraints

You'll work with actual footage limitations – bad lighting, shaky camera work, audio issues. Because that's what real editing looks like. We'll show you how to make it work anyway.

Your Style, Not Ours

We're not here to create clones. Elowen loves long contemplative shots. Kasper prefers quick precise cuts. Vesper goes heavy on visual flair. You'll figure out what feels right to you.

Our next program starts in about six months. We keep groups intentionally small, so if you're interested, get in touch sooner rather than later.
